Fantastic lift-off for ”Journey to Saturn”
The new Danish animated movie "Journey to Saturn" had a very promising lift-off in it's opening weekend where the movie with 83,644 sold tickets experienced astronomic sales figures. In total, the film has been seen by approx. 117,000 people.
That is a record for a Danish animation movie and at the same time the 4. best opening for a Danish movie since 2000. The critics have, with few exceptions, been just as enthusiastic as the public and offered the film positive reviews.
In “Journey to Saturn”, a team of absolutely hopeless Danish astronauts are sent to Saturn. They end up in a battle against the most deadly army in space to save the Danish values – and the world.
An impressive ensemble of Danish comedians and actors lend their voices to the characters in the movie, e.g. Casper Christensen, Frank Hvam, Iben Hjejle, Lasse Rimmer, Simon Jul and more. Thorbjørn Christoffersen, Kresten Vestbjerg Andersen and Craig Frank have directed the movie.
“Journey to Saturn” is based on a Danish satire cartoon from 1977 by Claus Deleuran. However, the plot, tempo and humor have been updated to entertain today’s movie goers.
A. Film, which is partly owned by Nordisk Film, has produced the movie.
