Nordisk Film and Zentropa’s shared international sales company, TrustNordisk, has sold the extremely popular Danish sitcom, CLOWN, to TV companies in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland. Thereby, Nordic TV viewers will be able to follow the awkward and embarrassing acts of the two leading characters, Frank Hvam and Casper Christensen.
The Manager of TrustNordisk, Rikke Ennis, views the sale as historic as it is the first time a Danish sitcom reaches foreign countries. Rikke is certain that CLOWN is ready for an international launch: “I think it is fantastic that a sitcom as CLOWN can cross borders and I have no doubt that Casper and Frank will entertain the viewers as they have done it in Denmark.”
The first season of CLOWN has already been released on DVD in Iceland.
