Toronto selects “To Love Someone”
Åke Sandgren’s “To Love Someone” is the second Nordisk Film production to compete this year at the big international festival.
The new Swedish drama “To Love Someone” by Åke Sandgren has been selected for Contemporary World Cinema Program at Toronto International Film Festival 2007. This selection screening will also coincide with the film’s world premiere.
Åke Sandgren has previously directed “Truly Human” (2001) and “Flies on the Wall” (2005).
“To Love Someone” is a film about Alf, a fish-shop owner, who lives a good life together with Lena. The only problem is that, despite knowing he makes Lena happy, Alf feels he is being compared with Lena’s previous husband, Hannes. When Hannes suddenly appears in their lives again everything that matters is put to a test. In matters of the heart, can you forgive the unforgiveable?
Lars G. Lindström produces for Nordisk Film Sweden A/S in cooperation with FILM I VÄST, Swedish Television AB.
Toronto International Film Festival 2007 takes place September 6-15. “To Love Someone” opens domestically on September 28th.
The Danish movie "With Your Permission" has also been selected for Toronto.
