”Worlds Apart” recommended for Oscar nomination


”Worlds Apart”, produced and distributed by Nordisk Film, has been chosen as the Danish participant for the Oscars 2009, in the "Best Foreign Language Film" category.

Director Niels Arden Oplev’s movie has been seen by more than 315,000 Danish movie goers since it premiered in February 22. While showing in the cinemas Worlds Apart has received enormous attention on prestigious Film Festivals such as Berlin, Giffoni, Seoul and Tribeca.

Each country can recommend one title for nomination in the "Best Foreign Language Film" category. After that, the titles are judged by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which in turn nominates 5 titles. These nominations are made public on January 22, 2009, while the actual Oscar night takes place February 22.
