Five FAQ’s about Nordisk Film's tours
Lotte is 28, she studies Danish language and literature and works as a tour guide at Nordisk Film. She loves film, and she loves to tell stories. The perfect combination for the job she has had for four years. Here, she answers five of the most frequently asked questions a tour guide normally gets.
1. Who normally participates in a guided tour at Nordisk Film?
"Everyone from school children and groups of pensioners to private firms, who want to give their employees an experience out of the ordinary. The guided tour is fascinating to everyone who is interested in film and what goes on behind the scenes and getting film myths revealed.”
2. How long is a guided tour?
'In general it is 1 hour and 15 minutes, but we are very flexible. So if a group has a tight time schedule, a shorter tour can easily be arranged. But on the other hand, the tour guides are never too busy to answer additional questions if needed, because we just love to talk. We can take content in and out and customize the guided tour for any individual group."
3. What is the best thing about a guided tour?
"As a tour guide it is when you get a group that responds well to what you say, a group that feels entertained and is happy when leaving. That is the best! Personally, I think it is fun to tell the story of our big silent film star, Valdemar Psilander. He led an exciting and turbulent life back in the 1910s and died dramatically. That is a story to look forward to!”
4. Is it a problem if you do not speak or understand Danish?
"It is not a problem! Many of our tour guides speak English fluently. Und wir haben auch einen Tour Guide, der Deutsch spricht."
5. Why are you a tour guide?
“Because I love to tell stories! And Nordisk Film is packed with great stories. It is the world's oldest film company, so there is a lifetime filled with stories about directors, actors, glamour and glitter to draw upon. It all melts together and become some amazing stories!”
