Distribution is the finished film’s long journey out into the world. It is the voyage from the film production company to the consumers. The first trip goes to the movie theatres.
Movie Theatres
Nordisk Film distributes our own movies to the cinemas. But furthermore we also bring loads of foreign movies to the Nordic region. Huge Hollywood blockbusters are brought to the big screens of the Nordic countries by us – among them “Dances with Wolves” and “Titanic”. In May, 2006, "The Da Vinci Code" will premiere in the Nordic region through Nordisk Film.
DVD
We also stand as one of the main distributors of DVD movies in Scandinavia. In 2005 our DVD sale exceeded ten million sold copies in a year for the first time. That same year we began distributing movies in the UMD format for PSP (PlayStation Portable).
A brave new world is upon us. VHS died in the arms of DVD. But already DVD has to watch its own back. New technologies pop up from day to day. At Nordisk Film we keep the development under close surveillance.
TV
The last voyage in a movie’s life is going to the tube. Shortly after a movie has premiered on DVD we offer it via our “Video on Demand” service directly to your TV-set. For further information visit www.sputnik.dk. Besides that we distribute loads of movies to regular television.
At Nordisk Film we pride ourselves of safely bringing our own and the movies of other production companies all the way to the consumer. That job is done by the distribution.
