Idea development

All movies start out like a tiny, twisted idea. Every successful movie ever made at Nordisk Film was nothing but a stray thought in the beginning.

Not all ideas have to be original to become a great movie. It is also an idea to make a screen version of a novel. The idea of sending “Pelle the Conqueror” to the big screen. If the idea is really good, we go one step further and write a synopsis, which is a short text describing the premises of the movie. What will the movie be about, how will it tell the story and why is that of any interest to anybody?

Only when the synopsis is approved and the financial questions have been sorted out we move on to the actually writing of the script. Nordisk Film uses a great range of scriptwriters, who can manage the difficult task of making a movie work on paper.

Sculpting the script from a mere idea often takes a long time. To make movies is not a fast process. It takes time, patience and endurance.

Ever since cinema was invented Nordisk Film has been the most creating movie machine in the Northern region. Our polar bear is recognized by its ability to make great ideas grow wings.
