Distribution is the journey from the production company to the consumer. Our Film Distribution covers everything from theatrical release to DVD/BluRay, TV and digital distribution as well as international sales.
Cinemas – theatrical release
We send our own productions to the cinemas, just as we distribute titles from other movie companies – either our partners or via out-put deals. For Nordisk Film, it is an especially important task to deliver the best content from local Nordic production companies to the silver screens in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland. However, we also distribute big Hollywood titles like the ”Twilight” saga and Academy Award-winner ”The Hurt Locker”.
DVD and Blu-Ray
Nordisk Film is one of the biggest distributors of movies on DVD and Blu-Ray for the entire Nordic region. On an annual basis, we send out about 300 titles on DVD and Blu-Ray. In 2009, this amounted to more than 5.5 million discs.
Video-on-Demand (VoD)
Nordisk Film is also a prominent digtial distributor. We deliver movies to suppliers, who offer Video-on-Demand solutions. With VoD you can rent movies at home directly from your couch via digital platforms such as the internet, cable TV, IPTV and mobile phones.
International sales
When Spain wants to see ”Super Brother” and Korea asks for ”R”, our international sales team, TrustNordisk, handle the requests and promote our own productions and distribution titles on the international market.
Many movies also have an important life on international film festivals. The Danish documentary “Armadillo” about Danish soldiers in Afghanistan is a good example. Without the publicity the movie got on the Cannes Film Festival in 2010, it had probably not been the object of quite so much attention. TrustNordisk is Nordisk Film’s foreign sales representative on all international festivals.
