Egmont in top form

In 2007 the media group Egmont generated 21% growth and record revenue of EUR 1,492 million. The profit before net financials, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose by 37% to EUR 119 million, another record. Profit before tax was EUR 65 million, up 22% on 2006. Read more

Nordisk Film co-owner of Zentropa

Nordisk Film and Zentropa join forces. Nordisk Film has acquired 50% of the shares in Zentropa Folket Aps. The ambition is to create a basis for further creative and commercial growth in Zentropa, including expanding the number of international productions. Peter Aalbæk Jensen continues as Managing Director of Zentropa, which in the future will be managed in an equal partnership between Nordisk Film and the existing shareholders. Read more

Nordisk Film signs major output deal with Summit Entertainment International

Nordisk Film and Summit Entertainment International have finalized a three year output deal in the Nordic territories. The deal was announced at the American Film Market and includes close collaboration around 20 movies through 2010.

NTC acquires large film distributor

On September 1, the sales company NTC (Nordisk Trading Company) in the MBO Group, partly owned by Nordisk Film, has taken over the Danish film distribution company Poulin A/S. With this acquisition, NTC strengthens its solid position on the Danish market and gets access to an extensive catalogue of film rights.

Nordisk Film 100 years - "Martha” voted back in cinemas

The vote for Nordisk Film’s third anniversary movie is over, and the winner is: Erik Balling’s comedy “Martha” from 1967. Since its opening, the movie has obtained a cult-like status in Denmark amongst seamen as well as landlubbers. The movie will be screened for free in Danish Nordisk Film cinemas on 4 June. Read more

Egmont records satisfactory profit for the year

In 2005, Egmont generated revenue of EUR 1,173 million, an increase of 9.6%. Pre-tax profit amounted to EUR 67.5 million. This is the second-best profit ever recorded by the media group. Read more

TV 2/Denmark launches broadband TV – the first phase of TV 2 Sputnik already available in December

TV 2 and Nordisk Film presented today an innovative new service for all Danes that have a broadband Internet connection in their homes: Denmark’s first Broadband TV Channel – TV 2 Sputnik, where everyone is their own TV channel editor and decides what they want to see and when they want to see it. Phase one launches on December 1st. and contains a comprehensive selection of programs from TV 2 – Denmark’s largest commercial TV broadcaster. The second phase of TV 2 Sputnik – a Home Cinema featuring films from Nordisk Film - will launch next spring. Around every third Danish home can already watch moving pictures in an acceptable quality via their broadband connection. Read more

Egmont joint owner of Pinkfloor

12 to 18-year-old girls are a neglected target group for games. Through Nordisk Film, Egmont has invested in Pinkfloor A/S - the company behind the interactive entertainment universe “PowerBabe” and other games. Pinkfloor’s games have attracted 150,000 Danish girl users corresponding to more than half of the target group. Pinkfloor and Egmont are now working together to develop this and other concepts across a range of platforms.
