NTC acquires large film distributor
On September 1, the sales company NTC (Nordisk Trading Company) in the MBO Group, partly owned by Nordisk Film, has taken over the Danish film distribution company Poulin A/S. With this acquisition, NTC strengthens its solid position on the Danish market and gets access to an extensive catalogue of film rights.
Poulin A/S was founded in the early ‘80s. Over the years, the company has had close cooperation with both MBO and Nordisk Film. This cooperation has now led to Poulin A/S becoming part of NTC, which is MBO and Nordisk Film’s joint venture wholesaler on the low price CD and DVD market.
The former owner, Jørn Poulin, will continue in a new joint venture company, Poulin Products, owned by Jørn Poulin and MBO A/S. The company will be active within acquisition of film catalogue titles for the Scandinavian market as well as acquisition of rights for and production of special products for the Danish market.
Normann Frennesen, Managing Director of NTC comments:”We are very happy that we now have Poulin A/S under our wings, and that we get access to a large existing catalogue of film titles for the Danish market as well as supplies of new products through Poulin Products.”
Jørn Poulin comments on selling his life’s work:”As part of a generation shift, I have chosen to sell the stock options in Poulin A/S to MBO and Nordisk Film. With these companies as future owners, I am convinced that Poulin A/S’ future and growth is secured in the best way possible, as Nordisk Film, the oldest film company in the world, has a remarkable know-how within the industry, just like MBO has in the music business.”
Per Dam, Managing Director of MBO A/S comments:”NTC is a very important part of the overall business in the MBO Group. With the take-over of Poulin A/S, NTC has strengthened its position further. I am very happy that Jørn Poulin has chosen to sell his life’s work to MBO and Nordisk Film, and I am also happy that Jørn will continue to be a very active player on our team in the future.”
