Nordisk Film announces three new Swedish partnerships

During the Cannes Film Festival, leading Nordic film distributor, Nordisk Film, has just finalized output agreements with three strong Swedish film production companies; Tre Vänner, Illusion Film and Hepp Film. The new partnerships add extra strength to Nordisk Film’s position in Sweden.

Nordisk Film aims at strong local presence and strategic partnerships in the Nordic territory. With the complete line-up from these three production companies as part of their distribution portfolio, Nordisk Film has gained foothold in the Swedish market and is well on its way to a strong position as distributor of Swedish movies.

Tre Vänner is one of Sweden’s largest independent production companies. The new agreement with Nordisk Film covers distribution of all feature films and TV productions for the next two years throughout the Nordic countries as well as worldwide sales. The first project in the cooperation is the cult TV series “Svensson Svensson”. Furthermore, Tre Vänner recently acquired the rights to produce a movie based on the successful Swedish novel “Snabba Cash.”

The agreement with Illusion Film covers output during the next three years. A crime series in six episodes about “Irene Huss” (the first episode also being a feature film) is the first joint project. Nordisk Film will handle the Nordic distribution and some of the future worldwide sales for Illusion Film.

The agreement with up-and-coming production company Hepp Film also covers output during the next three years. First project is the feature film “A Rational Solution”, with a script by acclaimed writer/director Jens Jonsson and featuring an A-cast including Swedish top actors Rolf Lassgård, Pernilla August, Stina Ekblad.

Managing Director of Nordisk Film Distribution, Mikkel Berg, comments: “Close relations with the local film production environment are of great importance to Nordisk Film. I am very proud and happy that Tre Vänner, Illusion Film and Hepp Film have chosen Nordisk Film as their distribution partner. This convinces me that we are on the right track and that our strategy makes sense to the world around us, not the least our existing and new partners. We want to give local culture production the best conditions possible. With our unique distribution set-up, we strive to give all the good stories from our creative partners a perfect lift-off and a long and rewarding life in the market. I have great expectations for our future co-operation with our three new partners.”

Managing Director of Tre Vänner, Michael Hjorth comments: “We at Tre Vänner are very happy and proud to work with Nordisk Film and look forward to the coming years of close cooperation”.
