Nordisk Film celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2006. From March 15th the Danes can vote by mobile for the movies they want to see free of charge in our cinemas on the first Sunday of each month. During the whole anniversary year, the polar bear invites up to 50.000 cinema-goers to see their favourite movies for free in 10 cinemas throughout the country.
”Olsen Banden ser rødt”, Sunday April 2nd
The first movie has already been chosen: Nordisk Film proudly presents the most popular Danish movie of recent years on April 2nd. ”Olsen Banden ser rødt” has sold more than 1,2 million cinema tickets since the premiere in 1976. On Sunday April 2nd it’ll hit the big screen again in 10 Nordisk Film cinemas across the country. And after that it’s time for the Danes to decide which movie they want to see.
From Præsten i Vejlby to Terkel i knibe
The next 8 movies will be picked by those who take part in Nordisk Film’s sms-vote during the year 2006. Nordisk Film has picked the 100 most popular productions and put them on a ballot paper which is available at all Nordisk Film cinemas and on www.biozonen.dk.
Among the titles on the ballot paper is the first Danish sound movie Præsten i Vejlby, Denmarks first colour movie Kispus, Nordisk Film’s 50th anniversary movie Qivitoq which was nominated for an Oscar, the cult movie Martha, the well-known Poeten og Lillemor, Ditte Menneskebarn, Løgneren based on Martin A. Hansens novel, Midt om natten, Erik Balling’s final movie starring Kim Larsen and Erik Clausen, and the youth pictures Kundskabens træ, Zappa and Tro, håb og kærlighed.
The ballot paper also offers many of the classic Olsen Banden movies. Younger movie goers can experience Snøvsen, Jungledyret Hugo and Fuglekrigen i Kanøfleskoven. The opportunity is also there to see again the Oscar winners Pelle Erobreren and Babettes Gæstebud. Among the more recent movies on the ballot paper we find Nils Malmros’s At kende sandheden, Her i nærheden med Thure Lindhart og Ghita Nørby and Terkel i knibe, Anklaget, Fluerne på væggen og Pusher II.
The movie vote initiates on March 15th
The first SMS-vote begins on March 15th and the vote will terminate April 10th. The movie with the highest score will be shown free of charge on May 7th.
