The Nordisk Film Foundation's study grant is allocated in portions of DKK 25,000, named Large Polar Bear, and 10,000, named Small Polar Bear. The annual allocation in this area is approx. DKK 1 million.
The Nordisk Film Foundation wants to strengthen talent in the film industry. The way to achieve this, is to help talents out in the world where they can gather new knowledge and experience and through this excel their artistic and technical talents for the benefit of the individual and the film industry.
Only single individuals will be considered. To be considered you need to show that you have a talent within the film industry. Applications in relation to acting education/stage art will not be taken into consideration.
The Committee of Nordisk Film Foundation may from year to year specify special criteria in relation to areas on which the Nordisk Film Foundation wishes to focus. In 2016, the grants can be applied for education/courses/study/internship abroad. We do not support education in Denmark, inspirational travels or travels abroad in connection with a production that is not an integrated part of a course/study institution.
For grant recipients, it is required that their evaluation of the grant results in a max. 2 minutes long video where they communicate - with artisic freedom - about the experience and output gained during the stay.
The video must be sent to Inga.firstname.lastname@example.org. We recommend to use www.wetransfer.com when transporting large files. It is free for files up to 2GB. Name your film your own name and also write the name in the "message" area when using WeTransfer.
It is moreover a requirement that the grant recipient makes a quantitative evaluation in the form of a "multiple choice" form with 10 questions that must be returned afterwards.
The application is open twice a year.
