The Commune by Vinterberg sold to the United States

September 12, 2016.

This week the award-winning audience success The Commune by Thomas Vinterberg and Zentropa will be officially shown at the Toronto International Film Festival in the prestigious SPECIAL PRESENTATION section. Only a few days into the festival it can be announced that the film is sold to the United States for cinema release.

The Egmont media group achieved revenue growth for the fourth consecutive year in 2015 with revenue totalling EUR 1.6bn. The result of EUR 102m is the second-highest to date. The key ingredients are strong media content, digital growth businesses and new media channels with more direct consumer contact. Egmont is focusing on acquisition and investment opportunities. In 2015, Egmont granted donations of EUR 12m to support children and young people.

Nordisk Film Production received 15 million kroner in economic support from the Norwegian Film Institute (NFI) to produce an upcoming feature film about the Norwegian war hero Jan Baalsrud.

Martin Zandvliet's LAND OF MINE and Kenneth Kainz's THE SHAMER'S DAUGHTER were big winners at the Robert Award Show. LAND OF MINE moreover received one of the biggest cash film prizes in the world. Tobias Lindholm's A WAR and IQBAL FAROOQ AND THE SECRET RECIPE were also among the award winners.
