Nordisk Film to invest in gaming industry

Martin Walfisz, founder of Massive Entertainment and Planeto, is appointed Senior Partner in newly formed Nordisk Film Games. 

With the newly formed business unit, Nordisk Film Games, leading Scandinavian entertainment company Nordisk Film is investing in the Nordic gaming industry. It has just been announced, that Martin Walfisz will be joining Nordisk Film Games as Senior Partner.

Martin Walfisz is founder of Massive Entertainment, the producer of e.g. “World in Conflict”, “Far Cry 3” and “Tom Clancy’s The Division”. He joins Nordisk Film Games from a position as founder and CEO of Planeto, the company behind e.g. “Quiz Battle”. Martin Walfisz is a prominent member of the Swedish gaming industry where he holds a number of trusted positions. 

“Nordisk Film has great ambitions in this market and they come with extensive financial backing making this an exciting opportunity. We are first and foremost looking to invest in minor and midsize gaming companies in the Nordics, but there are also many interesting start-ups in the region. I am looking forward to developing the booming Nordic gaming industry,” says Martin Walfisz.

“Nordisk Film is already the Nordic distributor of PlayStation and through more than hundred years of working with film production and distribution we have a huge experience in working with creative people and commercialising and marketing creative products,” adds Mikkel Weider, Managing Director of Nordisk Film Games. 

Nordisk Film Games is already scouting the market and expect to make the first investment before year-end.
