30.11.2017

‘The Guilty’ is the feature film debut of director Gustav Möller, with Jakob Cedergren in a leading role. The film has been elected as one out of 12 films to compete in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival, which focuses on new talents.

'The Guilty' is produced by Lina Flint from Nordisk Film's unit for talent development SPRING. The film script is written by director Gustav Möller in collaboration with Emil Nygaard Albertsen, who both also resides at Nordisk Film SPRING. They all graduated from the Danish Film School respectively in 2015 and 2013. The same goes for photographer Jasper J. Spanning and editor Carla Luffe, who are also part of the creative team behind 'The Guilty’.

The first Sundance Film Festival was held in 1985 and is based on the founder Robert Redford's ambition to promote groundbreaking filmic storytelling. The festival is currently considered to be one of the most important showcases for European cinema art in the North American market.

‘The Guilty’ is centered around alarm dispatcher and former police officer, Asger Holm, who answers an emergency call from a kidnapped woman. When the call is suddenly disconnected, the search for the woman and her kidnapper begins. With the phone as his only tool, Asger enters a race against time to save the endangered woman. But soon he realizes that he is dealing with a crime that is far bigger than he first anticipated.
