"Arne Dahl" is a high quality "primetime crime series", and is the outcome of a strong collaboration between Filmlance International AB, Nordisk Film Production and Nordisk Film Distribution.

The series is a "Scandinavian CSI" and is about the A-Team, which is the criminal investigation department's special unit for violent crimes with international aspects. The team consists of a number of competent and unusual investigators who find new ways and new patterns when things are most complicated. The series is also a portrait of a country that has lost its innocence and a Sweden where international crimes moves closer and closer.

To make the series as unique as possible, Nordisk Film Distribution is a part of the making of the series from the beginning, and Lone Korslund, Nordic Acquisitions Manager, says:

"'Arne Dahl' is a new crime series that we have not seen before, neither in Sweden nor The Nordic countries, where a team of special recruited police officers take care of the most fatiguing, horrible and complicated crimes ever seen in The Nordic countries.
It is a new, modern crime series and is meant to position Nordisk FIlm in the league and style of American series and films like CSI, Entourage, Six Feet Under and Bond, and is a launch that adds something new to the crime series genre."

The main character is played by Swedish Shanti Roney, who is one of the most exciting actors of his generation.

The first films will air at Swedish Television in 2x90 minutes episodes and will be released on DVD as well, and the fifth and last episode will be shown in cinemas.
Conceptual director is Harald Hamrell who is the man behind the latest "Beck" films, and the script is written by the writers of the last 26 "Beck" films, Rolf and Cilla Björlind.

The series is produced by Filmland International AB as a co-production with Nordisk Film Production, ZDF, SVT and Filmregion Stockholm Mälerdalen, and the post production is done by Nordisk in Stockholm.
