Change in the group of owners of Filmweb.no

Norwegian Film Distributors Association and Egmont have agreed with Film & Kino, Oslo Kino AS, Kristiansand Kino Drift and SF Kino Stavanger/Sandnes to buy their shares of the film site Filmweb.no, which totals up to 33,5% of the share capital.

Filmweb.no is Norway's leading film and cinema portal with more that 1 million unique users every month and the primary sales channel for cinema tickets in Norway.

33,5% of the shares of the company have been for sale for some time, now the Norwegian Film Distributors Association and the Egmont-division Nordisk Film have taken the opportunity to acquire a larger share of the company and thereby ensuring stability among the group of owners. The Norwegian Film Distributors Association's share thus increases from 13.4 to 16.6 %. Egmont increases their share from 34 to 64,2 percent.

Guttorm Petterson, Chairman of the Norwegian Film Distributors Association, says:
"With this acquisition we strengthen Filmweb AS together with Egmont and ensure that Filmweb.no can continue to be both a unique portal for the consumers as well as a great tool for the industry. We would like to be part of developing this further in corporation with Egmont, Bergen Kino and Trondheim Kino, which will make up the group of owners from now on."

Harald Løbæk Sæther, CEO of Filmweb AS, says:
"Filmweb's line of business shows a positive development, but to create even more growth for the company it is crucial to have a close corporation with the film industry in Norway and a big company that can generate synergies with our company. With Egmont and The Norwegian Film Distributors Association's further acquisition of Filmweb, we gain the opportunity to put more muscle into the distribution of films and cinema programs on all digital platforms and cross content cooperation."

Christian Lund, Digital Director of Nordisk Film, says:
"Like the other shareholders we want to provide reassurance within the group of owners of the biggest film portal in Norway. Filmweb is an exciting company that we are very happy to be co-owner of. We see a company with interesting potential and we believe that we can contribute to continuous growth and development. It has been important to make the acquisition with the Norwegian Film Distributors Association, because we wish to keep Filmweb a strong solution for the Norwegian film industry".
