Kon-Tiki and A Royal Affair shortlisted for Oscar nominations

Nordisk Film still has two films in play for the coveted Oscars, now that the short list of the nine remaining contributions has been published. The Academy Award committee publishes the final nominations on 10 January 2013.

The American Film Academy has selected both the Norwegian blockbuster "Kon-Tiki", directed by duo Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning and Nikolaj Arcel's "A Royal Affair" to be among the nine who could win an Oscar in the category "Best Foreign Language film ".

"Kon-Tiki" was previously predicted high chances and has also had a strong audience in Norway, where it sold more than 900,000 tickets.

Among the audience has "A Royal Affair" also gone from strength to strength. At home, it has been seen by 600,000 theater visitors and currently has sold 80,000 copies on DVD.

The Academy Awards will take place on Sunday 24th of February in Los Angeles.
