With 287,000 cinema admissions in just one week, Nordisk Film's large production Kon-Tiki once again moved into the record books as the Norwegian film that has sold the most tickets in its opening week ever. Even Norwegian films greatest success in recent times, freedom fighter drama Max Manus, who sold the 1,165,271 tickets, can not compete with these incredible sales.

"Kon-Tiki is currently our most ambitious production and most demanding film with shootings in 6 countries both above and below water with a budget of 93 million NOK. This is not only a major Scandinavian venture, but also a movie we believe has international potential. Therefore, we are very pleased with this dream start, where the Norwegians really received the film with open arms, which we hope the rest of the Nordic countries will do too," says CEO of Nordisk Film Production Henrik Zein.

Kon-Tiki, Danish premiere on 4th April 2013.
