Following her latest film, A FAMILY, which was selected for Competition at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2010, Fischer Christensen turns her attention towards a drama about finding love within you and discovering the joy of living.
Fischer Christensen’s upcoming film features some of our time’s finest Scandinavian actors, Mikael Persbrandt (IN A BETTER WORLD, 2010 and Peter Jackson’s upcoming THE HOBBIT – THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG, 2013), Trine Dyrholm (IN A BETTER WORLD, 2010 and A ROYAL AFFAIR, 2012) and Birgitte Hjort Sørensen (BORGEN, 2010-11) and reunites actor Mikael Persbrandt and actress Trine Dyrholm for the first time since the Academy Award® winning IN A BETTER WORLD (2010).
World famous singer-songwriter Thomas Jacob (Mikael Persbrandt) is based in Los Angeles. He is a very successful man who has burned a lot of bridges. He lives and breathes music and very little else. When Thomas travels back to Denmark to record a new album with his regular producer, Molly Moe (Trine Dyrholm), his grown-up daughter, Julie (Birgitte Hjort Sørensen), shows up with his 11 year-old grandson, Noa, whom Thomas has never met. Soon – and much against his will - Thomas is forced to take care of Noa. Against all odds the two of them slowly begin to connect through music. Then disaster strikes forcing Thomas to realize, that he now has to make a choice that will change his life forever.
SOMEONE YOU LOVE is written by Pernille Fischer Christensen and Kim Fupz Aakeson and produced by Sisse Graum Jørgensen and Vinca Wiedemann for Zentropa Entertainments 16.
Sisse Graum Jørgensen and Vinca Wiedemann also produced Pernille Fischer Christensen’s previous film, A FAMILY. Sisse Graum Jørgensen’s impressive track record also includes Arcel’s A ROYAL AFFAIR, Bier’s IN A BETTER WORLD and LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED and Vinterberg’s THE HUNT.
