Nordisk Film and Zentropa on Denmark's Oscar shortlist

Martin Zandvliet's "Land of Mine" produced by Nordisk Film and Thomas Vinterberg's "The Commune" produced by Zentropa have been shortlistet to become the Danish candidate for an Oscar nomination.
Three Danish films have been shortlisted for the title as Denmark's Foreign Language entry at the Oscars next year, The Danish Film Institute has announced.
The three films are "Land of Mine" which is directed by Martin Zandvliet and produced by Nordisk Film, "The Commune" directed by Thomas Vinterberg and produced by Zentropa, and Lise Ohlins "Walk with me" which is co-produced by Nordisk Film Production.
Nordisk Film, owned by Egmont, and Zentropa, which is partly owned by Nordisk Film, has over the last decade had a total of six Academy Award nominations.
In 2011 "In a Better World" directed by Susanne Bier won the Oscar in the category Best non-English-language film. This year Tobias Lindholm's "A War" produced by Nordisk Film, was nominated for an Oscar.
In Denmark a committee consisting of representatives from the film industry and The Danish Film Institute determines which films are set to battle for an Oscar nomination in the category Best non-English language films.
The Danish Oscar committee will announce the final candidate on September 19.
