Nordisk Film signs output deal with Brain Academy

Nordisk Film has entered into a three-year output deal with Swedish based international production company Brain Academy. The deal includes an exclusive agreement with acclaimed Swedish director Mikael Håfström (Episodes of TV series BLOODLINE, 1408, EVIL) of developing and producing his future Scandinavian projects. 

Håfström’s upcoming feature film, character-driven thriller THE PERFECT PATIENT is produced by Helena Danielsson (THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER, CALL GIRL, BEYOND) from Brain Academy. It is co-produced and will be distributed in Scandinavia by Nordisk Film, marking it the first endeavor in this new strong collaboration with Brain Academy, Danielsson and Håfström. 

THE PERFECT PATIENT is set for Swedish cinema release September 20th, 2019 with TrustNordisk handling international sales and pre-sales begun in Cannes. 

With THE PERFECT PATIENT Håfström has returned to Scandinavian cinema. It is an intriguing journalistic thriller based on true events, in which a Swedish journalist discloses the flaws of a national legal system that sentenced a man, allegedly Sweden’s worst serial killer. The drama holds a high-profiled Scandinavian cast, consisting of award-winning actor David Dencik (TOP OF THE LAKE, A ROYAL AFFAIR), Jonas Karlsson (THE SNOWMAN) and new talent Alba August (BECOMING ASTRID, THE RAIN).
