Nordisk Film strengthens position in Norway

20.03.2015

Together with one of the Norwegian film industry's most experienced producers, Aage Aaberge, Nordisk Film now strengthens its position in Norway.

Nordisk Film, which is behind the epic film "Kon-Tiki", is one of Scandinavia's leading film companies and sees enormous development potential in Norwegian films.

"Many incredibly exciting things are currently happening in the Norwegian film industry, and in line with Nordisk Film's ambitions, we see it as a natural progression to become part of this development," says Henrik Zein, Managing Director of Nordisk Film Production AS

Aage Aaberge has more than 30 years of experience in the Norwegian film industry. Among other achievements, he has produced "Kon-Tiki" for Nordisk Film and also enjoyed great success with the "Pelle the Police Car" –films, which received the Amanda Award and has now been sold to more than 20 countries. Aage Aaberge was previously head of the film company Neofilm and has now sold his share to Nordisk Film Production, where he will take up a position as producer.

"The film production environment in Norway is under pressure and we need a growth engine like Nordisk Film to help us ensure the continuity and solidity that is needed to get major film projects realised," says Aage Aaberge.

Nordisk Film and Aage Aaberge already have several films in the pipeline, including "12th Man" about the war legend Jan Baalsrud with director Harald Zwart and a film about Edvard Munch with the director Erik Poppe.

"We are presently waiting for a film report from the Minister of Culture. We're expecting first and foremost some several important clarifications from this, but I'm allowing myself to be optimistic on behalf of the industry," says producer Aage Aaberge.
