Nordisk Film teams up with Cosmo

The leading Nordic film distributor, Nordisk Film, has just signed a first look deal with the Danish film production company Cosmo Film.

Nordisk Film aims at strong local presence and strategic partnerships in the Nordic territory. The new deal with Cosmo complements Nordisk Film's position as preferred partner to the leading Danish production companies and adds to the company's already extensive distribution portfolio in Denmark.

Cosmo Film is one of Denmark's ambitious and growing production companies. The new agreement with Nordisk Film covers distribution of all feature films and TV productions for the next two years. The first project in the cooperation is the feature film based on Cosmo Film and TV2's cult TV series "Lærkevej". The shooting starts in July.
Furthermore, Cosmo producers Mie Andreasen, Rasmus Thorsen and Mikael Chr. Rieks' development slate includes Police Thriller "Atlantic Privateer" about the biggest drugcrime in Scandinavia and "A Place Under The Sun" an international production, with a drama set just after the end of ww2 by director/writer Martin P. Zandvliet. In development is also a teen thriller, a relation comedy, and more quality TV series and feature films.

Nordic Acquisition Manager in Nordisk Film, Lone Korslund, comments: "Close relations with the local film production environment are of great importance to Nordisk Film. I am very proud and happy that Cosmo Film has chosen Nordisk Film as their distribution partner. This convinces me that we are on the right track and that our strategy makes sense to the world around us, not the least our existing and new partners. We want to give local culture production the best conditions possible. With our unique distribution set-up we strive to give all the good stories from our creative partners a perfect lift-off and a long and rewarding life in the market. I have great expectations for our future co-operation with our new partners".

Cosmo Film CEO, Anja K. Németh, comments: "As the leading Nordic distributor, Nordisk Film seems to us as the obvious distribution partner to Cosmo Film. I believe that our partnership will enable us to develop, produce and distribute even more successful high quality products – and not only for domestic releases. It is our strategy also to focus on rest of Scandinavia and ROW. Our production development slate includes high profiled international productions for the future".
