Something special

Shootings took place in several countries, including Norway, Sweden, Bulgaria, Malta and the Maldives, and with 500 extras and a budget of more than DKK 90 million, the audience can look forward to a movie experience beyond the ordinary.

The plot

The film is about the Norwegian Thor Heyerdahl's perilous raft expedition across the Pacific Ocean in 1947. With him was a crew consisting of five young men. None of them knew each other and only one of them had experience in sailing.


Kon-Tiki is directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg and will premiere in Norway August 24th 2012.

Nordisk Film is the producer on the film together with Recorded Picture Company Ltd.
