World-wide Vampire Success

The third movie in the Stephanie Meyers' series about young love, vampires, and werewolves, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE, is drawing a huge audience to cinemas all over the world.

Despite sunshine, summer and soccer, movie fans across the globe are filling up the cinemas seats to watch the continued story of young Bella's complicated love triangle with Edward the Vampire and Jacob the Werewolf.

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, who play the leads in the long-awaited THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE, which is distributed in the Nordic countries by Nordisk Film, have sold more than 500,000 tickets across the Nordic region in the first week since its opening alone. This makes it one of the biggest young audience successes for years!

The opening ticket sales are markedly higher than the former movie in the series, NEW MOON, which opened in November 2009.

"It is extraordinary that ECLIPSE has not only defied the summer sun and world class sports, but has also clearly surpassed its prequel, NEW MOON, in the first week in cinemas," says Nordisk Film's Head of Theatrical Distribution, Jan Lehmann, and adds:

"However, it is not just our neck of the woods that has caught the Twi-fever – it is a world-wide phenomenon, which has reached millions of teenagers through the four books in the series, and is now defining a whole new cinema generation."
