Today it was announced, that Markus Windelen, a games industry professional with more than 20 years of experience in executive leadership roles, has joined Nordisk Games as Partner and Director of Operations.
Nordisk Games makes equity investments in European game development studios and currently has a portfolio of eight companies, including Avalanche Studios Group, Star Stable Entertainment and latest addition MercurySteam.
Markus Windelen joins Nordisk Games from a position as Managing Director of the entertainment production company Six Foot Europe. Before that, he was COO at two German game publishing houses Gameforge and dtp entertainment. Markus Windelen has also worked 12 years with Atari. At Nordisk Games, he will oversee new investments and investment operations and help develop current portfolio companies.

Copenhagen-based Nordisk Games is owned by entertainment company Nordisk Film, which is a part of Egmont, a leading Nordic media group. In recent years, Nordisk Games has built a high-growth portfolio of minority and majority-owned game studios. Just before Christmas, a sizeable investment in Spanish game studio MercurySteam was announced.
